Brought to the Valais from Burgundy by passionate winegrowers at the beginning of the 20th century. 1st phase grape variety with early maturity.
Tasting notes
The nose consists of aromas of fresh pears, lime and grapefruit as well as a hint of hazelnut which are typical of this grape variety. The attack is fresh and lively and contains the same citrus fragrances as the nose. It is a round, powerful and well-balanced wine with a smooth long finish.
Food-wine pairing
Excellent as aperitif, goes well with smoked meat and fish, fish terrines, fish in sauce or marinated (turbot on sauce mousseline), scallops, crustaceans, oysters and farmer's chicken.
