The Johannisberg originates from the Rhine valley. It derives from the Green Silvaner and was introduced to Valais in the mid-19th century. Its quality was increased by constant selection. The older vines located on the lower parts of the hillside produce these sumptuous wines.
Tasting notes
Golden yellow colour with green hues. Scents of fruit, almond and hazelnut along with a floral note recalling camomile. On the palate, this is a very aromatic, strong and well-balanced wine, the finish is soft and reveals a slight hint of bitterness.
Food-wine pairing
Well-suited to accompany asparagus, mushrooms, rich salads, shellfish and soft cheeses
