Gamay originates from the Beaujolais region. Like other generous vine varieties, it reveals its true quality only when produced on a very small scale. It needs a schistose or granite subsoil so it can develop its delightfully fruity and slightly peppery scents.
Tasting notes
Beautiful raspberry red colour. The nose of this Gamay offers at the same time smoky and spicy notes. Full of richness, it reveals its full-bodied and concentrated nature. Its discreet fruity aromas which are dominated by spicy flavours and its marked tannin structure make this wine very fresh and drinkable.
Food-wine pairing
Great wine with not too strongly tasting meat, especially poultry and veal, but also with poached or steamed fish.
